Long nails on men completely freak me out
Why do guys in Asia like long nails?
I saw the grossest ones on a gay Korean guy. They were nasty. Not even manicured. What's with the long pinky nail? I have no idea what the long nails mean, or why a guy would have them, but they send me running in the opposite direction every time. If mine get 1/64" too long and are showing white, I hack em down.

I keep mine trimmed flush with the end of my fingertips so some white shows.
Short enough to eliminate all white weirds me out. Hate the way it feels, too sensitive. Long thumb nails on guys grosses me out.

I keep them below the quick. Hate having dirty nails but the weekends always assure greasy hands.

My nails never get over 1/16" of white showing. Maybe it's some sort of sorcery sign, or they are an evil witch doctor. "i'll get you, my pretty"

I think long nails on anyone is gross.

Ancient China, It was considered classy or a sign of wealth because if you have long nails it means you didn't work with your hands.
When I was travelling in India and Pakistan I saw a lot of men with a long pinky nail. Not sure what that's about. Also Arabs... I never asked.

Not an accomplished guitar player but I do play finger style on a number of songs and want the nails on my right hand around 3/16". Left hand nails are cut as short as I can get em.
I must admit when I'm working on anything the right hand nails are a PITA for getting grime (removed with olive oil) and breakage (darn). I'll live with it. Best Les

^^^ For me, what oldE said. I had some pretty serious nails during my flamenco phase. Eventually I gave that up and switched to bass (ironically after some years of bass playing my flamenco picking has improved).
For Asians, the "coke nail" freaks me out too. Back in the 90's I spent a summer in Central Java (Indonesia). Long nails on men were the least of my worries.

The white on my pinky nails is about 3/16". All others 1/16" max.
The extra length is useful in guestimating finish smoothness on machined parts, and for detecting imperfections in smooth surfaces. Earwax removal? Nah... that's what the truck ignition key is for.
