BMW Dealership Experience (longish)

I drive from Northern Baltimore County to our head quarters in Franklin Lakes NJ every other week. I have the option to take the train, rent a car or drive my car and get reimbursed for the mileage. I love to drive, hate to drive rental cars (except for the F type I rented in Germany) and so I use my "beater", A 2000, e46 323Ci 5 speed, 150k. Great little car, averages 30-32mpg at speeds greater than the posted limit. Takes me about 3.5-4 hours one way. So Tuesday morning 6:00AM I'm in my car on my way... and at about 7 my car dies on Rt. 81 near Hershey, first time ever. Limp mode. So I limp it off the exit and call AAA. They're there in 15 minutes and load me up. In the mean time I looked up a local independent BMW shop and booked an Enterprise rental. Around 8 I get a call from the rental place informing me the next car available would be 5pm. Not good. So now I'm starting to panic in my head. The truck driver and I were chatting away and suggested the local BMW dealership, said they had rental cars and he's heard good things about them. Against my better judgement I said sure! So off to SUN Motorcars we go located in Lancaster PA. By 9:30 my service rep Stef had me on the road with a brand new loaner for free. Diagnosed the issue by early afternoon (TPS which is built into the body), finished it by Thursday morning, had their driver drop my car off to me at work (over an hour away) and the car was washed and vacuumed to boot. In cost me $1100 including an oil change. Wow kudos to a customer centric dealership! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1432314740.jpg

Its nice to hear good stories like this.

So often the story is how the dealer service screwed someone.

Did you see one of those new 4 series grand coupe's? Im liking that car.

No I didn't, but while I was walking around the dealer lot, I was relieved there were no used, standard transmission, 2 door 2 series! BTW, the dealer is in Mechanicsburg... good experience.
