At 47 I can work an entire day in the sun on a car but I'm in bed at 10, asleep before my head hits the pillow. I remember being in my late 30s able to work a 9 hour day in the office, drive 45 minutes after work to a garage I was renting, work until on a car until 11, get home at 12, get up at 6 the next day and do it all over again and it didn't phase me. I guess the only good thing I've got going for me is being noticed by women 2/3 my age. I'll take that. Still, the mirror/picture thing is odd. |

I did not get elderly until I got in a car wreck. Makes me glad I never gave myself the chance to get hooked on motorcycles.
I know people that are over 70 and don't seem all that old. I can think of a couple in their 30s that are already pretty GD elderly already. The half your age thing is flattering and only mildly weird when you are at Disneyland and the girls that graduated from high school a week ago are looking you over. Kind of creepy when you are at a grad party in your friend's back yard for his kid.

The Answer is Yes
I got home at 6:30 last evening, had a bite of supper and went out to get the baler on the tractor. The wife had the hay raked, ready to bale. Two hours and 15 minutes later we had 275 bales in the barn.
We have been looking after our grand daughter for the past five months and my wife had been joking about her increased upper body strength. She wasn't kidding! She was throwing those bales around like never before. I didn't hydrate enough and the leg cramps hit big time around 10:30. I finally got to sleep around midnight. Today I feel elderly. ![]() Dang. Ayup.
At age 60, I could talk my way out of it, but 10 years later....I'm not doddering yet, but it's just a matter of time. Still trying to avoid the "old fool" part.
