Moore was one fine young man. That was a shocking day. Family in the stands. Bro' on the team- Players

We're all motorsports fans or participants. Have to accept these probability of risk. Deep soul thinking.

Justin had some prior bad breaks, recovered. From interviews, he mentioned talks with his wife, peace at accepting if the worst happened. I don't know though. Sad.

1 foot forward, backward, right or left, he would still be with us. So sad a day for him and his family. I do see the day, very soon, where the cockpits will be enclosed because of this.

Very sad, but I don't see enclosed cockpits coming.

Like everyone else I am greatly saddened by this. For his wife and children, it will be tough. Hope they do okay. RIP

Thanks for posting. That was a fine tribute to as decent a man as you would ever find at the track, or anywhere for that matter.

It's been discussed before so who knows? The purist form of racing with open fuselage may someday become open wheels only.

Fuzzy logic though. Just compare any car racing to Moto GP or the like. Things go really bad too for riders and of course with far less protection. But no way would they put a bubble around them.

The drivers have been saying all year and last year too about how IndyCar needs to reduce the downforce package on the cars so they can't run flat out, three and four cars wide. The accident my not be a direct result of this but it figures in.

Wilson's death had nothing to do with speed and downforce. He was hit in the head with a large chunk of flying debris. That is deadly at 155 as much as 215 mph

^^^Would the accident have happened if they were going 155?

As I said before the accident my not be a direct result of speed and downforce but it does figure in.

Following that logic why not slow them down to just 55 mph?

Exactly. Also, our interstate speed limit should be 30 mph and restricted to EV's...
(the dig on EV's thrown in at no extra charge pardon the pun).
