Yes, the 928 is appreciating - especially now that Shaun bought one ... that money is okay with me, but NOT for a slushbox.

Seems like with the 911s headed for the stratosphere the 944 and 928 are finally getting some love. They are about the only option for a reasonable classic Porsche.

For the average guy without Shaun's ability and experience, i don't see the logic of buying a 928 or 944. If you looking for a project, that's one thing. But for a car to drive, If you're thinking the V8 @ 3500lb, seems a modern Mustang, BMW, or Camaro would be easier on the wallet..

If the 4 cyl. 944 route, I'd just go Miata.

Why did Shaun pull out the engine in the first place? He's taking about a radiator, and next thing I see is photo of the engine being removed

Yeah we'll see. I know plenty of guys 60+ that still tinker. My lift makes life way easier, at 36 I already don't like rolling around under cars on a hard concrete floor.

At 48 I'm a little slower and more patient which makes for a more enjoyable experience under a car. I think the key is to do work on your terms which is not always possible. But when it is...

No but I am putting in a vintage Eclipse copper chassis head unit, ADS amps and 10 Focal and/or MB Quart speakers.

If I'm not mistaken on a 928 you need to remove the engine, torque tube, and 14 electric motors to get the radiator out ;)

Man, do I really want a 928, just can't justify it to myself since the 911 barely gets driven as it is. I live through you for the time being.
