I'd like one for the house. They look great. Too bad about how they smell. :(
|
I always enjoyed the smell of pot...especially when they would begin to "bud out."
. If it were me, I'd be considering the possible repercussions from any judgmental/parental confrontation with the gardener. The Mexican culture is a "shame-based" culture and they don't take kindly to being put in an inferior position...because they spend so much mental energy on compensating for said inferiority. |
Grab a couple buds for yourself and tell the kid to get rid of it.

It's actually quite a cool looking plant from those pics.
I'm not a smoker, but I really find it hard to vilify some natural product that badly. Lots of scientifically good compounds locked up there. I would just ask the guy to remove it and take it to his own place, purely because currently it's against the law and you are a responsible adult who follows laws (and will petition against the stupid ones in a lawful manner). |
This reminds me of an acquaintance whose stash disappeared back in the days when laws were laws, men were men and all the kids were above average. In place of the plants was a local detective's calling card.
No note, no nothing. Just the card. Panic attack ensued, of course. A day or three later, after discussing with friends, the acquaintance goes to the cop shop and asks to see the detective. Tells him the story. With a very stern face the detective puts his handcuffs on the table and just starts laughing uncontrollably. A few days later pot plants reappear minus a bud or two. It remains a mystery in the annals of crime. |

If you send it to me, I will make sure it is disposed of properly.
25 per gram is not farfetched or so I have heard. |

I'm not positive but times have changed since 1996 and I think Ventura County, CA has moved away from Adair County, MO or vise versa recently.
|
I'd make the kid remove the plants ASAP, and be sure the let the father know, let the father and son sort it out :D

OK, the whole fiasco is over in less than 10 minutes. He was unbelievably apologetic and humble. He showed me his med marijuana card (back pain…LOL) and the plants are PERFECTLY LEGAL to be in his possession. A cop can't even take them from him if he's pulled over.
Kinda cool. He grew them inside a closet under lights. The house he and his girlfriend are renting is being sold by the landlord. It's being tented and fumigated for termites. He panicked and had no place else to hide them. He swears they were only there for two days. He said I can drive by his house today and see the termite tenting. I believe him. Those three little plants will provide his "medical marijuana needs" for the entire year. He said it will yield about 8 or 9 ounces. Oh, BTW…its call "Blackberry" LOL The world is changing. Now give me my bottle of scotch and GET OFF MY LAWN! |
Nice resolution, and very interesting discussion.
Times are indeed changing. Not everyone is changing with the times. Or need to. I love this place and the diverse crowd we have here! Cheers Richard |
And you didn't even ask for a cut? What a big softy your are!

That worked out good. Man, is my back hurting all of sudden...

nice.

it is in your possession so you are committing a crime. If it were me I'd call the po-po's and have them get rid of it so you don't get in trouble.
The punk criminal kid is committing a crime and making you an accessory by using your property without permission, so I'd nail him to the wall. But that's just me. I don't like drug dealers or people who do things that could get me thrown in jail. |

(Try not to end up like these guys: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_Farm) I haven't smoked for several decades, but probably would at times if it were legal. Alcohol is a pain reducer but has its own drawbacks and drug resistance. Low/medium doses of Vicodine had zero effect, made me into a zombie, and made my chest hurt. That drug has been linked to many fatal side effects. I'm resistant to some anesthetics as well and have woken during operations as have other family members. Diet, exercise, HYDRATION, ergonomic habits, acupuncture, and a bit of ralphing(painful) made a difference with my back. Many people respond differently to different drugs. MJ is not for everyone and the new strains can be highly potent. Some are high in believed-beneficial CBDs and lower in THCs. |
