I just started playing again for the first time in ten years late last year. Before that I played "ceremonial" golf for ten years or so when I was in the Navy: Mostly best ball stuff at various show the flag tournaments, Hail and Farewells, retirements, etc.
I have done range-only to get back to some form of respectability. I have a set of TaylorMade I bought from a friend and a fairly modern driver and fairway somethings that were gifts. My partner is a 2/3 handicap (legit - he is a Stanford MS in Aero and golf feeds his obs/comp personality) and when I am down in Yorktown we go hit balls after work. Golfers will know why I won't set foot on a course with him. Anyway, I took my old clubs to be re-gripped because they are perfectly suitable for my level of play. The guy at the shop laughs a little bit but doesn't try to sell me on a new set. "By adding these new grips I just doubled the price of your clubs to $50!" The market for used clubs, and this was last late summer, is apparently a bit arid. There could be value in the sand and pitching wedges, however - what brand? Edit: Never mind - 5 year old thread!

Try J. Peterman. He might be in the market, as his last set of collectable clubs didn't fare too well.
