Was that at Nissan of Clovis?
Because they did the exact same thing to my daughter's murano.
First they said it was a MAF, then they changed that and said the computer needed to be reprogrammed, then they told me it needed a new computer.
They f-ed it up and were not men enough to admit it!

They would not pay for it, they would not discount it, all they would do it LIE about it and try to charge me $1800.

It was a good thing I was 400 miles away or they'd have a drive-thru dealership.

it got serious ugly before I ended up getting a pretty big discount on the deal BUT THEY STILL SUCK!

NISSAN SUX!

I'll never own a nissan again, as long as I can keep my WIFE from doing stupid **** like buying nissans.

After the last one I'm pretty sure I have her broke of that bad habit for good.

Imagine for a moment that you tried to update the ECM at home, and it fried.

Be happy!
If I did it, I'd be responsible for it.
If they fried it, they're responsible for it.

Not my fault if the mechanic sucks at what he does so badly that he needs a lying POS scumbag service manager to LIE to cover up his mistakes.

Did I mention that I ended up with the old parts?

The bad MAF sensor they originally tried to charge $600 to replace (2 screws, 1 plug, 30 seconds of work tops, part costs $61) tested GOOD?

[QUOTE=gacook;8853466]I want to point out that I did not bash the techs at all...

Update status: short story--car's working, Nissan paid for the ECM + labor. Dealership didn't charge me for diagnostic check. As of now, I'm happy with them. Fried my computer, kept my car for 2.5 days, but took care of me.

No- you bashed the whole dealership- my point was to give them a chance to perform- if you weren't so quick on your trigger to complain they would have satisfied you & you would have never started this thread.
