They sound "off", through a free flow exhaust, even without the fart can. I don't know why this is; unequal length headers perhaps?

I've had Subies for many years.

A friend of mine is a computer programmer with an WRX.

He has spent countless amounts of money making this car into a rocket. ZERO money spent trying to become a better driver.

All kinds of silly things, like relocating the battery to the back to redistribute weight.... right next to the two massive subwoofers
It sounds like a warmed over VW Type 1.

That's Broadway, but it's only about 3 blocks from where this horrible atrocity took place.

The Impreza WRX/STi certainly doesn't have the nicest-sounding boxer engine.

They do have quite some potential though; there was a 600+ hp WRX at a past Texas Motor Speedway Friday Night Drags event I went to that easily outran a GT-R almost immediately upon launching.

STI's have been around for a few years now, 10? When they first came out I knew a couple of fairly well off dudes that were getting over 500hp out them with little more than bolt-ons.

Those early cars are now falling into the hands of the civic crowd. Off the showroom floor they are twice the price though so it takes a while for it to trickle to douche level.

the car? i love them!! i wouldnt mod one so badly, but the car themselves are very kickass and capable for a jolly good time. i'd give Mr. Winters a heart attack.
one of the few cars that works well, out of the box. WIth the exception of quieter tires, and possibly Koni Adjustables when they are available, it's a great ride.

that's the one thing about owning this- there are so many dip****s out there modding just to "Mod" their cars- SURPRISE! engine goes kaboom and they blame Subaru for making a "weak" engine. It's comical to see the kids just do something, anything so they can talk about how "Modded" they are online.

Here's a hint guys: 1) A CAI and a bigger exhaust would've been done from the factory if it was needed- it's not like Subaru didn't figure those tricks out already.

2)- a "tuner" is usually just a bro with a laptop. He don't know **** either. Crank up everything until big #'s show up, warranty voided and hope it holds together...
