No, you are right, I am wrong. It is a 1939 Studebaker pickup. Nash was similar looking, though. |

I'll ask him next time I see 'em, he does live next door sorta (4 houses down) but does his work at a shop 25 miles away and he is a bit standoffish, so he and I don't see much of each other. He's quite young and I'm an old geezer so.......we're not quite on the same page. Seems like a nice guy though. Not sure what's going on in his noggin' though ( bad dreams/ nightmares I guess)
But it does look like this "40 stude

I'm not a big fan of these creations, but whatever floats your boat. I guess building one of these things keeps people busy and out of the streets. I would rather have the yellow/black on in post #22. They made the cab buy cutting the back off of a President/Commander sedan and welding on a cab back panel. They sectioned the rear fenders to fit a custom-made box. The box sides were relatively expensive compared to the Big Three practice of using straight box sides instead of stampings. I wondered why they would stamp the box and cut the fenders instead of using a straight side box and modifying the fender dies until I got a good look at them. The box sides are identical, so one die to make. Each fender would have had to have a separate die.
OK enough truck history.
