I turned 65 last June. Another day, but the naps are really nice.

And a belated happy birthday, since I missed this yesterday. Did you get yourself any nice bass gear?

Nope. I bought a white Epiphone Thunderbird IV classic a few months ago. I love it. As good as any of my Gibsons. I'm done for a while...

It's pretty amazing how good the offshore stuff has gotten quality-wise.

50 to 60 years ago my parents used to say that it was mostly older people that drove sports car. Now 60 years later I know why!

It has been sitting in a showroom for at least 5 + years. Dry as a bone and no rust anywhere. Of course it's English and it has electrical ghosts everywhere. Put a new fuel pump in it and it fired right up. It has a single Weber down draft carb on it now, but last week I scored a proper, complete SU side draft set up from a running car of the same year so it should just be a swap and tune. The brakes have been trouble. I have replaced all the steel lines and rubber brake hoses, rebuilt the calipers, and replaced the wheel cylinders but it still have a mushy pedal. I bought a Lockeed master cylinder from the guy I got the carbs from so I will replace that next when the weather gets warmer. I also scored a deluxe replacement carpet set on Ebay for a mere $100. So electrical issues like dash lights and heater motor aside it was a great buy at $3500.00 and as you say should be a fun easy road to having a fun car to blast around the creek hills around here and go fishing in.

note English parking brake LOL

I love this bass. It has a build quality as good as my Gibsons and it has Gibson T Bird+ PU's in it at 1/3 the price of the Gibson. 9 ply neck through, mahogany body all the good stuff. Wonderful tone as well.

Happy birth day. ......many more is the tough part.....and they seem to get closer together. All I remember about age 65 is that I kept working. In retrospect, wasted a year.
This year I plan to celebrate by getting a "nap chair". I plan to get comfy. My goals are small.

Waiting on some decent weather to get the Miata outside now that I have a semi-legal drivers license. Re-took the DL tests in my Tacoma......now I'm legal only in a auto trans vehicle........a new twist? I'll take some poor SOB out in the short car to qualify for a stick trans....maybe have some fun with em'.

Keep those B-days coming Dave!
Is that B of yours pink?
You'll have to wear your black gear while driving it if so.
Interesting wheel tire combo. Nice price!

Cheers Richard

Your saving graces for posting that is:

1 My daughter thinks they are a little big for her yet.
2 She hasn't read this part of the thread to change her mind about it being to big for her.
3. You didn't have a hat on.

Great looking MGB, David! She'll love the SU upgrade! Had 'em on my '69 145S Volvo and she ran like a scalded cat!

HBD II and please continue to keep us updated with your endeavours!

All the best, Baz

I will say...they are big. I'm 6'2" 185 and it still looks big, especially in white. However, they are 15% smaller than my vintage Birds...so...
