My parents live in the same retirement place as Lacob's father. About 3 years ago, before the Warriors made their second playoffs in 18 years, and when they were still not very good, Lacob's father told my father that the Warriors would win the Championship soon. Because Joe always achieved his goal, since he was a kid. He never failed. That's why he could afford to buy an NBA team.

I think what makes Curry appealing is that he is relatable. He's not an absolute monster of a man like Lebron James. Further, his best attribute is something that we can all do - shoot a basketball. He just happens to possibly be the best we've ever seen at that "simple" task. He also seems like a genuinely good guy who is having a lot of fun playing the game.

I think Curry is more relatable than James, but I don't like his cockiness that seems to have rubbed off from Cam Newton.

Supposedly they're just having fun...But it's not the same kind of joy that I saw watching someone like Brett Favre play.

PS - Go Spurs Go!

The Spurs have been playing that way for years... one of the finest exhibitions of team basketball you will ever see is the Spurs vs. the Miami Heat in the 2014 NBA finals. The Spurs took LeBrons and the rest of the vaunted Miami Heats names and kicked their a$$ all the way back to Miami. Unfortunately, father time and injuries are catching up with Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Ginobli but they are still a team to be reckoned with...

I sorta lost interest in the NBA after MJ retired as college ball dominates around here for most. Watched Duncan play at Wake, and because of him, I began watching the Spurs playoff games back when. You will not find a better, classier pair of individuals than Duncan and "The Admiral" David Robinson IMO. So now I'm waiting to see this years version of the Dubs...anything like the Spurs, and I'm a fan

Exactly. Steve Kerr, the Warriors coach, played for the Spurs and coaches his team based on what he learned from Popovich. They say the Warriors are changing the game, but they're just doing what Pop's done for years. And look at which team is the only one that can challenge the Dubs: The Spurs.

I want to add that there is a chaotic element to the Warriors' play that makes them so much more exciting to watch. Those Spurs teams have been (wrongly) accused of playing boring basketball, while nobody has even dared to say the same about the Dubs.

Also, that Curry kid is pretty decent but he ain't no match for 100% 3PA ANDREW BOGUT. From last night.

Kerr also played with Michael Jordan and for Phil Jackson. Pretty good schooling there, also.

50 home wins! Would have been 70 if not for that damned Derrick Rose guy.

They may get to 70 next year. They made the Nicks look like a D-League team last night.

I just saw that the Dubs will be playing the Spurs tonight on TV here...might just have to take a peek

Ahem...go Spurs (Steph is great, but Tim Duncan is winding down, and I remember when he was a freshman at Wake years ago)...gotta pull for the "old fart" one more time

Welp. Add another notch to the loss column for the Dubs. Great button down defense on both sides. Kind of a weird game from a lineup perspective. Old man Timmy D came off the bench for 3rd time in his career and sat the entire second half.

I'm still bullish (heh) on this Warriors team however.

I watched the game and it was great. Where does the time go...didn't realize Duncan was 40, and 40 year old legs don't belong in the NBA as sad as it is it admit. He still might contribute a few quality minutes at times though, so I'll still be hoping he gets another ring...on of the best ever IMO. Popovich is a helluva coach...again, one of the best ever. The game had a playoff feel and was awesome for this basketball fan. BUT....and I mean NO disrespect to either the Spurs or the Dubs, but despite their glowing records, the great teams I've seen over the years would clean their clocks IMO. The current Spurs are just not in the same echelon as the Robinson/Duncan Spurs in their prime, and the great BIG front lines (Bird/McHale/Chief & DJ for example) would dominate too. The rules have indeed changed, but it's still a game for the big men when all is said and done...defense wins championships, and "live by the jumpshot, die by the jumpshot" still applies too IMO...

Now back to March Madness...as great as that game was, I always have preferred college b-ball, and this past weekend proves why once again

72 down, one to go. They finally beat the Spurs in SA after 19 years of trying. I can't imagine the Warriors losing 4 games out of 7 in a series against anyone. Go Dubs!

Not true. We won a playoff game there in 11 or 12. Lots of shots went down for us. I bet Pops will tinker with defensive assignments and try to put Kawhi on Curry. It seemed to have worked for a little bit previously.

I meant regular season. The playoff win is with an asterisk. Pops said Curry is "unsolvable", and even if he does contain him, hopefully Klay will take over.
