I may know someone who could put you on to a wing car, or something appropriate for that mill to go into, anyway. He had a Superbird shell, original 440 car, but may have sold it. Had a few others

Car and motor look good. I really like Alfas, always wanted a '70's GTV. Is that a Montreal?

One of 3800 Da Pumpkin! Yes it is. It's a time capsule. I own 7 and she's awesome. Bought her 20 years ago for 17K GOK what's it's worth, don't care I just drive her when I can. You can't imagine. Ask urseppos he got to drive me Race Car and that's a 2L. I got an ALFA Museum in VT. All are invited!! Did Porsche ever build a HEMI??

Would the 426 be more streetable than the original? I believe back in the day, the 440 was more practical, but the 426 has the cache, I suppose even in a tribute car. Probably enough to justify the cost difference. Was that Charger originally green (Sublime)?

An old friend in high school had a 71 GTX with a hemi. His dad owned a shop and bought up any late 60 and 70 muscle cars. This was in 1977 when the value was down.
Steve was correct. the 440 was more practical (hydraulic lifters). The hemi was high maintenance always adjusting the valves. But it was worth it. The sound of that engine wide open or just at idle was priceless.

Nice 70 Charger
to get the 426 to live in there we need to know first if that is a big block or small block car . the rad opening is different. 22 inch for small block or 26 for big block or Hemi also the fuel pickup in the tank as well as the lines will be too small. next is motor mounts. schumacker makes swap mount to stuff a 426 on 440 mounts. then brakes, if you want power brakes you have to move the brake booster over using a Z bracket or it will hit the valve covers. most people run manual disc using a master cylinder from a later half ton Dodge truck.

Also, I know where you can get the wing, rear window plug and nose cone for the Charger.

It's amazing that in the day, those winged cars just sat and sat on dealers' lots, eventually being sold cheap!

I think they were the equivalent of todays winged WRXs and Evos. To most people they just looked stupid. Today you have to be really comfortable with small boys pointing at you if you want to drive a Winged Mopar.

I agree with all above who say "don't do it" but my friend wants a Dodge Daytona and I think that's what's goin' to happen.

So the back window is different too. First hurdle I suspect. Could be a long road
with a lot of bumps.
