Prince may be dead?

Reports of a death at Prince's Paisley Park studios,

Speculation is it's him.

Seems to be. Not my cup of tea, but an incredibly talented and hard working guy.

The world just got a lot less funky.

He produced, composed, performed all of the instruments on his album "Prince". I remember him on American Bandstand with Dick Clark. I'm super bummed that a big icon of my formative youth is gone. This was the era when 1980s music creativity was just getting rolling, and I think he had a huge, huge influence on music for the next few decades.

Keep up with the programming you lemming, wouldn't went to to fall behind the other posers.

There was NOTHING special about that little... guy... I guess.. except for his marketing skilz and their effect on the easily impressionable.

His music was simplistic to the extreme. the beats were thoughtless, his voicings and antics were a parody of his self.

But i suppose if you enjoy watching little boys dance .....

Oh and BTW, my comment of "who?" was a result of multiple threads about his death all popping up at once, not on the performer.

I kept my opinion of him to myself until you had to regurgitate on your keyboard.

Watch "Prince on American Bandstand 1980" Video at The Root TV

He's 19 here, and Dick Clark explains that Prince played every instrument on this song, and that he's been performing and composing since he was 15 years old.

Until Prince steps in with his own piece of funk the song lacks inspiration..in other words it is by the numbers.

A friend went to a concert of his two months ago and said it was the most fantastic concert in her life. A sad loss for the world.

Pretty much everyone who ever saw him play live says that they were blown away, best show/musician ever, etc. Including a lot of other greats.

Ok, so who is a great band or performer in your book? I'm dying to know.
