And Boxster! I'm a lifelong NARPer. 914. Check. 912. Check. Boxster. Current daily driver.

My man Matt is living proof that you can be a family man with a Boxster. Uncle Ronnie never got that

brianvb 05-06-2016 03:22 PM

No hate for 912 or Boxter. Kidding ... Just kidding. The Boxter is probably the best Porsche car you can buy for near ten grand.

Norm K 05-06-2016 07:56 PM

How dare anyone hijack a thread about Ronnie with conversations about P-cars. Y'all are as guilty as that goat blower ever was.

I always enjoyed reading his posts. I wish he was still here. There aren't enough laughs in this world.
Christian, I've always enjoyed yours too. Society has become a bunch of softies that take things way too seriously.

Could you possible swing any harder on a man's nuts?

Strikes me you should be looking in Off Topic for 'laughs', not the Marketplace discussion.

The mods made exactly the right call.

If the mods' (or in this case, the mod's) mission is to watch over the pusillanimous among us -- along with those who are either so stupid that they can't figure out how to utilize the readily available "Ignore" feature or are simply unwilling to do so because their holier-than-thou attitude has them convinced they shouldn't have to -- meting out punishment unevenly and inconsistently then, yes, they made exactly the right call.

Holier than thou attitude ? seemingly a case of the pot calling he kettle black ... LOL

The mods made the right call because they recognize that off color jokes add nothing to the discussion of the Porsche Marketplace.
Very simple.

msort81 05-07-2016 06:10 AM

Time to move this thread to OT. It is not Marketplace related.

NYNick 05-07-2016 06:11 AM

What's done is done and we can't change it.
On to the next 'what's it worth' post.

There are very clear rules for Wayne's House - in which we are all guests.

In all my time on Pelican forums, I've only put 4 people on 'ignore.' and when people are on 'ignore,' you only see their posts when somebody else quotes them. Unsurprisingly, the people on my ignore list bring so little value to the forum than they are almost never quoted.

kenikh 05-07-2016 11:11 AM

Given we are discussing a ban that took place for activities on the Marketplace forum, this seems a perfectly appropriate Marketplace discussion.

This and your post about the 1st Amendment are very true in my opinion. This is Wayne's house. I didn't agree with Black's decision to ban Ronnie but I don't make the rules. I can skip posts from people or I can place them on ignore. There are a number of ways to avoid uninteresting content and when that content becomes burdensome to the board the administration will act as they see fit. I didn't mind Ronnie's asshattery but enough people did to warrant attention. This thread is just beating a dead horse. What is done is done.

brianvb 05-07-2016 11:54 AM

Done is done. True. It's a shame.

Now this Forum needs a new self-elected representative for non-stock turbo users that refuse to return the cars to original and drive them for fun. I'm hope others will step up. I drive my cars but I feel a strong urge to return them to stock form so I don't qualify.

Buy a salvage title middie with an engine swap and all guilt will be washed away.

Or try kicking yourself three times in the Matt, hard, and realize that these are performance cars, and that modifying them to the best of your abilities is doing them an honor. :)

No it isn't. Whats happening is that you want to kvetch, an this thread enables said kvetching. Off Topic is the appropriate place for that, in the same way its the appropriate place for 'Jokes'.

matt930s 05-07-2016 12:21 PM

Get your post count up elsewhere !....newb..... lol....
