Aviation people

I saw an airplane the other day and it was "unique" looking. Ir looked like a cross between a Cessna 210 and a Turbo Porter but the cockpit was more cone shaped and the top half appeared to be all plexiglass.

So, what was it?

The top half of the cockpit/cone shaped front end. Not all the way to the prop, but close.

The cockpit was similar to this, but it was a tractor not a pusher and larger. The wing leading edge back was very similar to a 210/Porter cross.

210 size I think. It was not LSA and appeared to seat 4 or 6. It was hard to make out as I was driving. It was on the taxiway of the local airport.

The nose was shorter than a Turbo Porter but longer than the 210 and the pilot appeared to be slightly reclined so it may not be quite as big as I thought. It had windows like a 210 from under the wing on to the back of the passenger area. It was larger than a Husky.

I am guessing some type of kit or experimental. It was just odd.

The leading edge back is similar.

It was like this, mostly. The red is the angle the pilot reclined and the blue would be his head. Sorry for the crudeness.

Close, but there was a lot more glass and it went further forward and the whole front was more of a cone. I could see most of the pilot. More than you can see in the LSA at the top.

Not a Caravan. Love them as an SUV of the skies though.

Move th epilot ahead and more glass from the wig root to about where the Y in SKYDIVE is an down about as low as the bottom stripe as it gets to the door.

Put that cockpit on the plane you posted before and you would be awful close.

I imagine it was a homebuilt/experimental but someone may have seen it or another like it at Sun-n-Fun or Airventure.

From the spinner to the wing leading edge was an almost perfect cone shape and lots of glass on the top half-ish.

Had I not been driving I would have taken a picture.

Imagine the Extra posted above with this cockpit, only from the panel forward is a cowl and engine.
