Actually, women's Levis did not have the 'W' or 'L' as part of the external tag on them for obvious reasons!.

Maybe now, but I remember when I was a kid in the 70s an aunt of mine went to great lengths to remove the tag so her sizes wouldn't show.

My size too. I buy every pair of 514 regular blue jeans I find.

I've tried buying online but always end up with some weird color

I use clothes for years and seldom buy anything. However I've worn 32x32 for decades, and when I do try to buy "jeans" I have to look through all of the selections to find my size. I feel lucky to locate more than one pair. I do seem to find lots of sizes like 46x28 though. Those kinds of sizes seem to be the ones they produce most.

There is. Trunk Club sends me clothes when I ask for them. "Hello, Liz? Yes, I need another pair of jeans, and some shorts, and ... I don't know a couple of polos or something. Awesome, thanks!" And a few days later, I get a box full of stuff that fits. I try it all on, stuff half of the clothes back in the box, and send it back (free shipping, pre-printed label and everything).

I don't ever plan on going shopping in a normal clothing store again, seriously.

Some of the best fitting, longest lasting jeans I have had were my $12.99 Kirkland from Costco. They were my garage jeans and saw a lot of welding, grinding, laying on the ground under car, fluids, etc. I finally retired them, but I was pretty damn impressed.

I've just bought two pairs of Levis 511 Skinny Commuter jeans (my favorite style), used, on eBay for $25-35 each including shipping. One pair is the original commuter jean, long discontinued.

I wish I could return the two pairs I bought at the Levis store and get my $70 back. But then I'd have to go back to the outlet mall. It is worth $70 to not do that again. I'll never do that again.

Nota. I bet you're right! Seems like waist size tags have remained the same but the actual sizes have crept up. Although I haven't measured for years, I also bet my waist size has crept up along with the clothing size.
