If I could do it over again, I would have paid off the house sooner than I did. The majority of the interest is front end loaded in a mortgage and there is no need to let the bank have it. Paying it off early is a guaranteed savings that you can't make today without taking a fair amount of risk. Debt and taxes is how they keep us chained to the system. Minimize both thru prudent planning and life gets much easier.
