Maybe I accidentally fast forwarded past the good parts, but what a snooze fest.

Really? The name of the event is: "European GP to be held at the Baku City Circuit in Baku, Azerbaijan"

I guess I'm too old for this siht anymore....

No, there were no good parts, it was a total snooze fest from end to end.

Well, we did get to listen to Kimi ***** at his engineers, that's always fun.

Really surprised that there wasn't major carnage at some point. A few incidents, but all minor.

Rosberg was flying.

When you watch the video of Rosberg's qualifying lap, vs Alonso or Riccardo, you realize just how much more power the Mercedes PU has. It must be terrifying to be an engineer on one of the other teams. They have no answer for the MGU technology lead that Mercedes has over them.

Yep. I think the drivers' strategy was to not crash and hope other people did. There were so many mistakes in practice and qualifying, that everyone probably thought this would be a race of attrition. Instead, we got a parade where no one wanted to do anything but follow and maybe pull off a super-safe pass because doing anything risky would probably mean not finishing. I'd hate to see a race at this track in the rain.

I think they all watched the GP2 race and wished not to repeat it.

Damn, you guys are hard to please ! ;-)

I enjoyed it... Very picturesque track, nice on-boards, HAM did not win, Ferrari kinda recovered a bit, a little humble pie for Dr Marko, another fairy-tale ending for Force India, and I saw quite a few nice passes... (and repasses)

Not as incredible as Le Mans though !

PS: as much as I enjoyed hearing ROS "fixed" the same problem as HAM 12 laps sooner (I read the articles about switch changes giving him hints but I can't help thinking he's studying the manual a little more than Lewis), I think it's BS that the team cannot tell their drivers which mode to switch back to. Those guys are driving F1s between walls, and are supposed to debug KERS/engine maps too ? We're not talking diff settings or brake bias here... It's energy harvesting BS... A little silly... Hate to side with Hamilton but he's right !

^ It's because the drivers must drive the car un-aided by either electronic aids or radio guidance. On the whole, I agree with the rule, even though it may seem entirely different to tell the driver to switch engine modes, vs brake bias, etc. I would rather the driver have to figure as much out as possible during the heat of battle.

On the other hand, how much of the driving has been automated for the Le Mans 24 Hrs? When you see those prototypes absolutely flat out in those turns, it makes me wonder how much of that is the car, and how much is the driver.

Some folks like watching the precision of great drivers, the performance of incredible machines pushed to their limits, the melding of man and machine with both on the limit of perfection.

Other people just like watching big crashes.

Come on now. These guys drove very cautiously this weekend. Very few chances were taken...Rightfully so.

I saw front wheels missing the medieval tower wall by a cigarette paper. Saw wheels spark from kissing the wall. Some passes that failed, some that worked... I guess we can all look at the same feed and see different things ;-) Nothing wrong with that. I somehow do not picture those guys cruising - ever.
