Im done with safety glasses for any kind of grinding or cleaning with wire wheels . I broke the handle on my grinder last summer , and while safety glasses saved my eyes, I still lost a huge chunk of skin off my nose when the wire wheel got buried in my face at full speed.
I now wear a full face shield .

I always reach for the glasses, because it's habit - but I've never had a near miss like that. I think I need to go up my PPE game. This face is ugly enough without more scars, or a wheel piece through the glasses...

Always wear glasses AND a shield when grinding.

thats scary Fred

Good call on the first aid kit. Mine is in the house but even a min or 2 might help. Plus, no carpet to clean up.

I have a first extinguisher at most doors, I need to pickup a few more.

Yep, and it happened in the blink of an eye. I remember looking up, and thinking , damn, that hurt, then taking inventory, and for a second feeling like I was o.k. I then noticed my shirt turning red . Off to the E.R.
Be careful out there guys !
