Nice upgrades so far . If it is in the budget insulation anywhere you can add it is a good investment. Also HVAC of some sort really makes the man cave livable . My 24 x 26 man cave is insulated, has a white metal ceiling, an insulated garage door and wood walls painted white. I can heat/cool with my Mitsubishi mini split for very little cost ( aprox. 20.00 a month ) and it not only is cool or warm but also dry which makes a huge difference in how it feels and how your metal tools behave ( rust ) . I also sunk a scissor lift into the floor. Also have to have some tunes of some sort and a flat screen TV doesn't hurt . It just depends on what your budget can handle !

I suppose part of the problem is removing everything to do the work on the floor and walls, - the finished result in your pictures makes that worthwhile though.

First I have to sell the GT3 wheels!

Steveo -- it looks like your space has a lot of potential; you'll be amazed at what a difference a little paint will make.

Yeah -- I imagine that we'll be in this house for awhile, so the improvements might happen a little at a time. I've always liked the approach that a garage should be like another room in the house instead of just a covered port to park your car, so I like the idea of HVAC and insulation (and flat-screen TVs). My driveway is a long, steep incline with a plateau at the top and then a left turn to get into the garage, which is under the top floor of the house, so part of me envisions someday adding onto the garage, making the flat top of the driveway an extension of the current garage (and probably turning some of the current garage space into an extension of the basement). If that happens some day, I could easily see the garage space becoming more of a "man-cave" than a traditional garage space.

Thanks, Sidney -- trust me, a lift is definitely on my wish list. I discovered an oil leak under the Cayman last week; fearing the "is it RMS or IMS" mystery, I reversed the car onto ramps, which is a slightly frightening process. I was happy to discover, though, that the leak was coming from a small tear in the o-ring on the oil filter housing (I guess I probably over-tightened it and crimped the o-ring). Phew!
