iPhone durability

Had to share...

Today I went to the lounge at work for lunch. Went to the microwave and through in my Tupperware of leftovers on the sensor reheat setting. A short two minute conversation with a coworker later, I thought "where is my phone? I know I had it with me. Oh crap!"

Yep, I put my iPhone 5S in the microwave, it was sitting on top of the Tupperware (rubbermade) and I cooked it for 2-3 minutes. It was nice and hot when I pulled it out and was showing "no service" but then the cell network came up and it seemed to be working fine. I shut it off for about 20 minutes until it cooled off and booted it back up. Works like champ!

Latter at home it seems to be having issues with WiFi but if frying the WiFi is all that happened, I'm impressed. My wife thinks that I'm just looking for an excuse to get a iPhone 7. Hmm.

I suspect the "no service" is because it was in a metal box and couldn't "talk" to anything on the outside.

Wow, that's pretty crazy! Congrats on not killing your phone completely.

I use my iPhone in a RAM-X mount on my motorcycle. One day, crossing a R/R track, it bounced out, hit the road at 60mph, and I watched it bounce 15 feet into the air and spin at 1 million rpm. When I retrieved it, it was still operating, and has ever since. I was sure it would have been toast...didn't even crack the screen.
