Yeah. Thats the model I like. Considered the 78 pacecar, but I think I will get tired of the two tone paint.
I have bought 2 911s in the US, so it is a possibility to buy long distance again. But it would be easier to find one in the neighbourhood. But there sure are a lot to chose from in the US of A. |

This is a 1982 non-collector's edition And this is the pace care that you're talking about. ![]() I think there was also another that looked similar with a 2 tone paint.

I must say, all the warnings aside, I would like to own a C3 someday. Just cruise it around. They are iconic, and in my humble opinion, beautiful.

One of my friends back in the 80's had an 82 Corvette. It had one great feature....once you learned the technique of the release, it would smash a beer can absolutely flat going down the road. You realized you did it right by looking in the rear view mirror afterwards to see the flat can in a spin heading for the shoulder of the road.

I had a red 79 t-top manual trans Vette. I really enjoyed the car. The C3 was what I lusted after in HS so there lies the attraction. The 4 speed was fun to drive but a little bound up on the highway...really needed a 5 gear.
I get the love for the chrome bumper cars but I think the rubber bumper cars look awesome as well. If I were to go down that road again it would be a pre cat 74 Vert.

Why not get a TVR,V8S, Chimera or more spendy, a Griffiths? Enough V8 rumble to satisfy anyone, and they drive so much better than a Corvette. Check for rust in frame side rails.

I bought a '69 Corvette when I was 20 years old. Took a few phone calls to find anybody who would sell me insurance.
Quite the beast with the close-ratio 4-speed tranny. I have very few regrets in life, but one thing I should have done: Before selling that car, I should have tossed the keys to a few of my closest friends and said "Be back in 15 minutes, and don't tell me what you did with the car". |

A friend's father in high school had a body shop, and he had a collection of cars. One of the cars was a 68 Corvette roadster with the 427 tri-power and 4 speed. We're talking 1977. There weren't to many cars that could match the power of that car.

If I could get my 58 back, I'd start working on cars again

I've always liked Corvettes. I looked long and hard for a 1982 Collector edition corvette. Price was no object. I saw some with only 1000 miles. I couldn't get past the bad build quality. I gave up and bought a Porsche 993. I'm now getting interested in the 2017 Grand Sport, but I'm concerned about long term build quality. I really hope the American cars are getting better.

This is the "Silver Anniversary" Corvette. They made plenty of '78 Corvettes in this silver/charcoal color combo:
