I grabbed this up today for $2100.00 113,000 miles, new motor from Ford at 104, check engine light on ( easy fix) one noisy wheel bearing, and rust on the rear quarter lip .
Guy bought it brand new, and really took good care of it, interior is perfect . Runs perfect . Killer audio system, new tires. wow.
I am not overwhelmed with the power, but still fast enough to be fun .
If you need me , I will be at the pool hall tonight . Paul really was onto something .

I would have been hard pressed to get a rusty camry for that money .
I feel like I'm 20 years old again, looking out over a hood scoop while holding a shifter in my hand

Wow, very cool. Impressive buy for that kind of dough. Have fun.

Nice, that's a great buy for that money and a stick I guess as well, since you are holding on to it. I doubt you can get one this cheap in CA. Maybe because there is less rust. I test drove a GT conv. a few years back of the same vintage and was underwhelmed by steering / suspension. All things you can fix, just like the power - there are some nice bolt on superchargers ...

Nice! Mineral gray. Put an H-pipe and some mufflers on it and enjoy. I'm a fan of glass packs.

Saleen mustang from the 80's = take a stock low powered car, glue a skirt kit on it and some cheep plastic pin-striping.
Custom seat covers, cut down springs, and double the price. Voila!!!!

over-hyped under-powered POS.

Nice pickup fred. I know squat about recent mustangs but that seems like a deal. Queue the vanilla ice :)

A simple Camero will fit the bill! No muss, no fuss!;)http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1484236420.jpgI was getting kinda upset at the fear factor program wrecking all those 80's cameros, those are good machines, you can hop them up cheaply, and body kit them out at any level, and they will still turn heads!

Can't wait to retire and get out of this Nissan Versa (gets great gas milage )

And yes I said multiple times I don't want a convertible but at that price I could live with it.

LOL, if a $35k MSRP Saleen with 300hp on a 3000lb body is an underpowered overhyped POS, then what does that make your $45k air cooled 911 with 200hp on a 2800lb body?

I would have totally done an Iroc, I actually looked at one . Had to be a stick though, and they don't show up all that often. I was not looking to drive halfway across the usa to get one either.
The Gt was low hanging fruit. 10 miles from my shop.

Nice score, Fred!!!!!!!!!

(Yes, I understand what you do for a living. :))

Lols..

Gave it a quick look over for rust, drove it about 2 miles down the road, and gave him the money . It was an easy one . Really a no drama car to own. Not much cheaper than mustang parts .
I am pretty good at repairing the stripped spark plug holes already . Everything else is easy peasy. I installed that wheel bearing in about 25 minutes last night . $50.00 from the local parts house .
There is a certain feeling of freedom driving a cheap car that is easy to maintain .

legion 01-12-2017 09:07 AM

You must be atypical Fred. There's a saying about never buying a house from a plumber or a car from a mechanic. :)

(I think it is premised on the fact that they understand exactly the bare minimum to keep each working.)

I always wanted one of these. Then the "new" Camaro came out when I was in High School and I wanted one of those even more. 20 years on, I think these late 80's - early 90's ones look better. I don't really like the quasi-retro look of the current crop.

I also thought it might be fun to make a mid-engine Camaro and shorten-up the front end....

edgemar 01-12-2017 09:47 AM

Any plans to mod it?

how about an IRS from a wrecked Cobra?
