Super family, all of them, I think Mark had two sisters. I spent time with Don doing real estate deals and helping him buy and restore cars. At my ripe age of 20ish I can honestly say Don was instrumental in providing the motivation a kid needed to shoot for the stars. He was that mentor for me. This was a blow to hear about Mark and also that Don had passed. RIP

A great elegy - thanks for that.

RIP Mark.

Thanks for the reminder about his wife's birthday thread.

And what a reminder it is. I saw him not long before he ended it all, and TBH I was a little jealous of all I saw. Wife, family, awesome cars, and I assume an awesome financial picture. I found him to be warm and generous in person.

But here's the truth: happiness is an inside job. And all the things (and people) in the world can't fix that. Further, I was judging his "outsides", which was all I could see. We seldom ever know anyone else's "insides" other than our own. And when I compare that which I know to be flawed "inside" of me (my "insides") with someone else's "outsides" - well, that's a perfect recipe for unhappiness.

As I said, thanks for the reminder.

And yes, RIP Mark.

At 20 I knew that if you didn't have peace of mind when you put your head down on the pillow at night all the money in the world don't mean shyte. Life is a struggle full of challenges, when you hear of a guy offing himself it does nothing to help me face those challenges It drags on you that the guy couldn't make the hump..I do not need that in my life..it is tough enough.

The only caveat that I would have to say is if the guy had a terminal illness that would lead to a painful end..and I would have to cross that bridge when I got there?

Man that is a seriously on point statement right there. Especially so in today’s social media world.
