Modern dent puller?

Man o' man, I saw a unusual dent puller. Its like the pops a dent, but a lot more intricate. It was on you tube, and the gent was pulling hail damage like it was butter. He glued with some special adhesive a metal disk on the hood the same diameter as the dent, hooked up the device and slowly pulled the dent out. He sprayed some solvent on it and the adhesive cleaned up nicely, next he found a small metal disk to complete the task, and repeated the task, job done? Man I would love to find that puller or some one with one, any of you folks ever see the vid? sorry I have no link.

Don I believe its called an Edge Jack? Pdr dent removal tool. I just watched your vids too, thanx, it looks like a winner too. I think the dent lifter glue puller is the correct one. Its for the ones on the hood and roof and trunk. check it out on you tube. Pretty cool stuff.

Its a PDR dent duller. The tabs are hot glued on to the area then pulled. The glue comes in different strengths depending on the amount of tension needed to pull the dent. The glue sticks are color coded. The tabs also come in various shapes, sizes, surface dimples to fit different size dents, grip. The solvent is alcohol.

They are great tools but not miracle tools. Don't expect to buy the tool and Wa-La the dent is removed perfectly the first time. There is a learning curve and larger dents will require more pulls. The hardest part is understanding the tension in the panel to get a dent to pull properly.

My kit is similar to this one.

Friend of mine does pdr and uses his glue pull tools way more than the push bars. It's pretty amazing what they can get out with those tabs and a little practice.

I fell into the worm hole of watching PDR videos on YouTube a while back. Some of these guys are absolute magicians.

Yup. Takes a ton of patience and one hell of an eye. My friend that does it bought all the tools and taught himself. He has a UD license and just started buying auction cars with hail( no shortage in OK) popping the dents and selling them until he got really good. I've seen him push out pretty big dents on new cars and have it come out flawless. I think I'd get fed up with it after a while and go too far the other way!

:Dhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1486563868.jpgWhy pay someone big bucks, for a small irritant that one can do themselves? I'm there.:D

petrolhead611 02-08-2017 08:17 AM

I bought a cheap eBay kit. It will pull the dents out some way, after several pulls, but I think it takes loads of practice to perfectly remove a dent. I must have done about total 50 pulls on 3 older cars and didnt succeed in getting any one dent perfectly removed

Thanks, Was only about $100.00. I didn't relaize it when I posted but my kit didn't come with the hammer or pops a dent thingy. I have a slide hammer and a T-handle similar to below.
