She is the victim of "death", which is the only thing proven about the story so far.
As such, it's written properly. No one really knows yet who the 'victim' of the altercation was.

Article is horribly written.
"Tragic and avoidable incident..."  Says who? It might have been a good killing.  At any rate, when you see words like that in what's supposed to be a news article, it's garbage.
