3 suspects shot to death by resident during home invasion in Broken Arrow
Getaway driver arrested after 3 suspects are shot to death in Wagoner Co. home invasion | KOKH BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (KTUL) -- Wagoner County investigators say a resident opened fire on three men during an attempted break-in Monday just outside of Broken Arrow, killing all three suspects. Deputies received a call around 12:30 p.m. about a possible home invasion near 9100 S. Clearview Drive during which shots were fired. Upon arrival, deputies found three suspects dead and two residents uninjured. Deputy Nick Mahoney says the preliminary investigation shows that the three suspects went to the residence with the intent to burglarize it. "They were dressed in black, all had masks on, and all had gloves on," said Mahoney. Mahoney says the suspects broke in through a glass door in the back of the house. After entering the residence, the suspects encountered the homeowner's adult son who also lives there. "There was a short exchange of words and then gunfire happened," he said. A neighbor down the road said the gunshots sounded like a storm. "Well, I thought it was thunder, I just heard something, I had the doors closed," said Leon Simmons. Two suspects died in the kitchen and a third ran from the home but collapsed and died in the driveway. It's not clear yet if the suspects were armed. Both residents are cooperating with investigators, and the homeowner's son volunteered to go to the sheriff's office to give a statement. "Preliminary investigation, it looks like it was self-defense," said Mahoney. Investigators don't believe the residents knew the suspects and are unsure how the suspects arrived at the home as there was no vehicle parked nearby. It's also not clear why the home was targeted, but residents in the neighborhood say they've seen an increase in break-ins recently. "Within the past six months we've had two or three burglaries out here," said Simmons. |

I can honestly say Oklahoma is a cyst pool. I may be jaded due to being stuck in lawton...

Job well done, think of all the money that he saved the taxpayers.

I would dearly love to see every home invasion end this way. The police, try as they might, cannot be everywhere to protect us. Our all too liberal, bleeding heart courts have decided that perpetrators' rights trump victims' rights. Our representatives, in many states, have finally acknowledged our right to defend ourselves and our property. It is truly delightful to see a case wherein that has panned out. It is truly up to each and every one of us to defend that which we hold dear. Chalk one up for the good guys.

Death by AR 15. The story showed up in my Facebook feed. I notice there is no mention of the AR 15 used in the Fox story. I guess you can't have black scary guns doing good. Getaway driver will get life?

Two of the suspects were armed, according to investigators. One with a knife and the other with brass knuckles.

So, What kind of ammo in the AR? I know it was .223, just wondering FMJ or HP?
Good shooting, kid! |
The two inside the house are no-brainer shots. But they found one on the driveway - the shooter may have to answer some questions on that one. Hopefully, he was shot in the house and stumbled out to the driveway to croak.

I'm not always at home with my kid, but when I am, I have a loaded AR-15 just in case three teenagers decide to.....wait a second. Huh?
|
Yep, I'm sure when two guys have broken into your house, you pause and wait for the third one to cross the threshold.
Or maybe he got hit when shooting at the other two. ;) |
I will demand a jury of my Pelican peers should the need ever occur.
Legion....check Higgins...check Aw hell, I don't care who the other ten are :) |

Great result but I feel for the guy because he'll be paying for this the rest of his life.
