A little further back:

First motorized wheels: 58 Cushman motor scooter. The ultimate freedom for a 12 YO in a small farming community. Rode them all over hell and creation.

First car: 1957 Chevy 210 2 dr sedan, 6 cyl, std. totaled 4 months later. No surviving pic.

Next Car: 1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe, 283, Powerglide.

First new car: 1969 Pontiac Custom S. 350 with 350 automatic.

First 2nd car: 1965 VW

Next new car: 1976 VW Dasher. obviously totaled:
Dad, the VW is in a ditch and I can't get it out.
Hmm, you neglected to tell me it was upside down ! victim of a low speed slow motion rollover:

1973 VW Thing: when my teenage daughter missed the bus I always drove her to school in the Thing.. totally embarrassed to be seen in it. And no, that is not an oil leak, not sure what that is.

1974 911.. still has CA plates on it and I still have it:

Only interesting car after that was the 1983 Audi Coupe GT... no pics that I can find.

'65 Impala, 1st car. 350, 4spd, 4.10 gears (not stock motor)
'76 Impala (not pictured)
A couple of Dodge Omnis both with the VW 1.7L
Olds Omega w/2.5L
Citation X-11 (not shown) w/2.8L
'69 Buick Riviera 430ci
'70 Buick Skylark (not shown) 350ci
'87 Pontiac Grand Am w/2.5L. It cracked the heads, but we drove it adding water frequently. Sold it for $300 and the purchaser drove it until T-boned adding water frequently. Still ran great all things considered. Was a pretty good car actually. Couldn't kill it.
Couple of random turds (Dodge shadow and Olds Delta 88 w/307)
'88 911 Targa, black with linen (color) interior (not pictured)
'97 miata 1.8L
'99 miata 1.8L
'04 Mazdaspeed Miata 1.8L turbo
current car
'08 Boxster S (RS60 Spyder)
Weirdly, I cannot find any pics of my old 911. I know I have some backed up on a CD someplace. I'll have to find them and put them on a harddrive before the CDs disappear.

This is me in my 914 back in about 1978. The rear springs were shot and the shocks were stiff enough to keep the rear tires up in the fenders. I replaced the springs and the flying rear was fixed.
