I recently ordered 2 bottles of CWW from Blackwells. You might want to pick some up before a price increase or "supply chain problems". Cheers Jim!

I needed to reward myself for being fiscally astute. That plus my order from Caskers will have me set for the long haul, no need to buy booze for a long while. LOL!!

I figured I would beat the inflation thingy and just stock up well for the long haul. This will last me a very long time. Plus I am going into a spending hibernation for a a few months.
Think of this as a Whiskey version of a deep freezer without the deep freezer. Not pictured a very shy bottle of Red Bush and Buffalo Trace. They came today, this pic was taken 2 days ago. 2 more CWW 3 more BWW and a Black Bush in a pear tree.

While on our return trip from Italy, Sicily, Greece and Croatia, I made a purchase in the Rome duty free shop. Haven’t decided if I’m going to break the seal soon or hold off for a special celebration.

Way back when, this was a favorite thread when I was just starting to get into bourbon. So it’s 2025, what are y’all drinking?

I know you guys will all laugh at this simpleton, but I’m a Bourbon newbie (maybe three years), so I typically enjoy Makers Mark 46 and Hell House. One thing I HAVE learned, is I’m NOT into smoky Bourbons at all. In fact, enjoying Hell House on my nightstand as I write this.
ALWAYS neat. |

Well, I now prefer Irish whisky over bourbon. I pretty much only drink Redbrest Single Pot Still Irish whisky. The thing that did it for me is my wife will drink it and likes it. There's no other she will touch. So we enjoy sipping on s shot now and them together.

I’ve really gotten into bourbon over the last few years, I love trying new ones and occasionally stumbling onto the needles in a haystack like Eagle Rare at MSRP at my local stores. I also gave up whiskey for lent so this is therapy.
A few recent ones that I would highly recommend that may be slightly less mainstream.Redwood Empire - CA bourbon and rye, they have several variants but I like their basic pipe dream, it’s normally about $35. ![]() Ben Holloday - MO bourbon, they have a MO straight and wheated in several varieties. Made in a cave in Weston, MO about an hour outside of KC, super cool place that also has an Irish pub in a cave three stories underground. Normally about $50. ![]() Still Austin - TX bourbon and rye, they have several varieties of bourbon, their cask strength just won a gold medal at a big competition in SF. Normally $40-$70 depending on what you pick, even their basic straight bourbon is good. ![]() I’ve also became a huge fan of the smoked old fashioned using a good rye. I invested in this smoker for a whopping $25 on Amazon. It makes an amazing drink!

My son got married on February 15th. The groomsmen, groom, and I enjoyed this while getting dressed for the ceremony, courtesy of Brewzle, my brother-in-law. It was very good!!!

I do like the Woodford Double Oaked, my local Total Wine periodically has a barrel pick that’s pretty good. I tend to like most of the toasted barrel bourbons.

Michters rye is about the only one that I’ll drink neat or on the rocks. Generally speaking I prefer a rye for an Old Fashioned but a bourbon for straight.
I’m still a newbie with Scotch, any good recommendations? I like Johnny Walker black but know it’s a blend and considered by some as “not a real scotch”. Had a bottle of Glenlivet 12 a while back that I received as a gift, it wasn’t bad.

I've tried a few but this one that Jims5543 posted above is my favorite. Tough to find, I buy from a liquor distributor out of San Francisco.
https://www.blackwellswines.com All small batch, this one's 117 proof.

I like CA bourbon. Had this one a few years ago and haven’t seen it since.
