. So many great bourbons in the $25-50 price category.
I have an in-law that has had some recent success in business and now has some money. He insists on buying top shelf.

I don't get it either. There is plenty of good stuff without paying $100+ for a 750ml bottle.

He even gets 'top shelf' margaritas, which in my estimation really is a waste since it is a lime drink.

We went to Midleton Distillery in County Cork several years ago. As an Army guy I totally subscribe to the volunteer for nothing concept. However, at the distillery when they asked for volunteers at the end I knew it was the thing to do. TASTE TEST!!!

For end of the work week therapy, I am all for the cheap stuff, I typically keep a bottle of Evan Williams in the cabinet and will go that first.

I have a bottle of Bushmills 21 y/o, I purchased it 2 years ago, I pour a double every year for my next trip around the sun. Every time I taste it, I am blown away how amazing it is.

The Blantons was pulled out of a back store room in a little mom and pop store I was in. The counter lady and I were chatting I must have said the right things, she said, "I'll be right back I think I have something you want" I was relieved she came out of the back room clothed. She had a Blantons Box in her hand. Score!

I will buy an expensive bottle and keep it around until a friend is over I know will enjoy it.

Otherwise, that $25 Evan Williams Handle serves me well.

I used to get Jack Single Barrel. IIRC it was around $40 per bottle. I think it is north of $60 now.

Blantons? Love it but haven't seen it in a long time, like years now.

Really enjoying Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey (part of the empire that owns Jameson's, Paddy's, Middleton, Bushmills and others). It is about $30. Paddys is pretty good to at around $20

Black Bush is another go to for me, $30 a bottle (used to be $20)

Powers is also a favorite, even if they changed the bottle and label. LOL.

An Irish friend once told me, they keep the Jameson around for the American tourists.

The locals in the republic drink Powers.

The locals in the North drink Black Bush.

I LOVE Irish Whiskey.

Last moment before we had to put away phones and cameras, they were really strict about that on the tour.

Until my grandson was born a few years ago, I only drank vodka. My grandson was named Evan Williams by daughter and SIL not knowing it was the name of a bourbon. Now we all drink lots of Evan Williams and have all sorts of hats t-shirts etc.

Have been accumulating the little green Laphroaig folders (must have forty of these)...each worth 1 square yard (or ft?) of their land, thinking how nice it would be to get enough of these to pitch my tent - when I later learned that I'm only allowed to claim one square! I need to contact them...own up to my ignorance but also ask for a bit of understanding. Maybe they'll roll with this? Let me squat for awhile in Valhalla? Could be great!

Edit: Just noted "Most Beautiful Women" thread just below this...no small amount of symmetry in this!

That is awesome!!

A little FYI that kicks the kids name up a notch, a tie to the movie "The Hustler".

There is a scene in the movie, The Hustler, where Eddie Felson orders a J.T.S. Brown. I searched hard to find me a bottle of that Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey only to find out it is only sold in Kentucky. What I did find out in my searches is that Even Williams is made in the same distillery and is identical to J.T.S.

After a month of waiting, I finally received my Buggy Whip Wheat and Old Forester.

I immediately tapped into my Buggy Whip Wheat in great anticipation, wondering if it could come close to Corset Whips and Whiskey in taste. It is excellent and another one I will be adding to my rotation.

While CW&W has a spicy kick to it with hints of vanilla BWW is less spicy except you are reminded of CW&W and that distinctive Wheat Whiskey taste.

Old Forester will be tapped into this weekend. I need to be cool as tonight is a work night and I have a crazy day tomorrow.

The Blantons arrived 2 weeks ago and it tucked away for special occasions.

Looks like they have given the old forester label a slight update. I just finished of off a bittle a couple weeks ago and need to replenish. Been working on an Old Grand Dad Bonded which I really enjoy.

The Journeyman Distillery stuff Jim posted above is great. You should give it a try. The Corsets, Whips and Whiskey is awesome. I'm going to order the BWW.

Did you get that from Blackwell's Jim?

I used Caskers for this order.

Dear lord.... I am very close to finishing my bottle of BWW and felt sadness... so much sadness I jumped on Caskers and searched for CWW, which is sold out, so I searched BWW and purchased 3 bottles. LOL!!

Then went on to order a bottle of Buffalo Trace and some various Bushmills...

To be continued..... hic...

Edit... I tapped that bottle at the beginning of the month and I almost killed it 10 days later? I need to slow my roll.... I wish my clients did not stress me out so much. Maybe I need to get my MJ card after all.
