Thanks for the book link

I've not met Jean-Pascal in person but he's promised to come out to the pub with me next time he's in the UK

I love the new one. I'm buying one within 5 years even if that means selling my 911T to make it happen. Reading (and hearing podcasts) about its engineering and the quest for lightness made me want one bad. One has to reward the rare manufacturer effort for lightweight with a purchase. It's like Chili, if a restaurant makes the effort to put it on the menu, you MUST have it, it's impolite not to.

Re: old one's handling / hammer - not in my experience. Even though it's rear engined the engine is a light 4 banger. It's feels more central enginedin behavior, more like the entire car is permanently eager to rotate and hates going straight. Even that's not totally true, it's not unstable, it's just so light that it is very responsive to the lightest touch and loves changing direction... It's not bad at all in corners, it loves corners. I didn't get it to slide as I was driving in my socks and less than comfortably seated. If anything it's worse going straight ;-) At least my friend's was.. Biggest disappointment aside from the lack of room was the gearbox. it's junk.

I've admired these for a long time. France has produced some brilliant cars. The guy I sold my Euro M3 to when I moved back to California from France a few years ago had one; wish we could have traded!

Saw one in Amsterdam in 1984. Just pub crawling at night with the work team and I saw it on the street. It pretty much commands attention. The locals were walking by it not even turning their heads but I was stunned. I have a pic in a scrapbook somewhere. Only one I've ever seen.

Back in the mid to later 70's, in Kenya, my Dad built an A110 racecar for a fellow. I remember going to the local circuit (sadly no longer there) to watch the car run and Dad keep setting it up. At the time, as a young kid, it was one of my fave cars. Would love to have one....

Definitely a pretty little car. I did not realize how compact it is.

The Datsun next to it won best in class. You knew when it driving up to the award area as it was very loud. Twas cool.

I didn't hear the Datsun but as I was leaving, this McLaren caught my eye, 917 (in the back) caught my ear.

So, I'm told that the car is "on the trailer" from Dallas - two driver rig, and will hopefully be in Los Angeles for unloading tomorrow night! Bought last October - it's taken about five months to get here from Switzerland. I think I could have walked / swam there in that time! (maybe not).

That is totally boss

So, with all these cool cars, you need someone to drive them around for you?

Some thread drift here but for those considering intercontinental purchases, shipping a container across an ocean is apparently down a LOT from peak prices.

There is a reason why Gordon Murray uses a new one as a daily driver. Love the new one for what it stands (as well as the T50, but the A110 is a bit more budget friendly).

Wayne your car looks amazing, will be well worth the wait

Confession time, I've got an Alpine A110 reveal of my own for later this year

Really shouldn't be as excited as I am but my inner 10 yr old self can't help myself
