Looks like TG America with Tanner Faust drifted the 458, California, and LaFerrari. Or at least that's what the Google says.

Back to my original comment about that series. Blah.

it's television.

i actually think a fast ass car ripping around a race track on TV looks very mundane..you cant get the perception of speed from a television..not like you are standing track-side and watch a car rip by..

so.....make it look better. drift that beotch. i'm okay with it..for the record..i cant drift like that either..or take that car around a track really really fast.

Drifting isn't a sport...it's just showing off. It appeals to those with a short attention span who just want to see some sort of spectacle with lots of smoke & noise. They lack the interest and/or the focus to follow an actual race and appreciate real driving skills.

i've seen a drift event. i know i cant drive like that.

and they get points for proximity to obstacles..i would destroy a car. it isn't just a burn out contest around corners.

i think it is a weird sport, and needlessly destroys tires..but whatever. i dont think synchronized swimming is a sport either..or badminton. skill is skill

love that video.
scares the crap out of me even thinking about going sideways in a 930 at over 100mph!!!

don't get me wrong, its definitely fun to hang the rear end out. I do it in the 930 but nothing faster than 50. its also a good way for ME to learn the limits of the 930 and to use the right foot to control the rear.

The proper 4 wheel drift slip angle depends on the tires and the road surface. While yes most tracks and low profile tires are low slip angles, some tracks, wet condtions and some tire compounds will go faster at an increased slip angle.

Remember watching F1 races when they had both Michelin and Bridgestone tires. The Michelins had a very abrupt edge while the Bridgestones had a soft edge. That is the amount of grip they have just past the maximum slip angle. When conditions would change the Michelin guys would go sliding off the track and the bridgestone guys would be faster. At least until the Michelin drivers learned where the new edge was for the conditions.
