What I would like to know is how they make fourvalve-heads live on aircooling?Or are they oil-cooled?
Guess we'll find out sooner or later.

been saying that from the first time i heard it.
They casually show pictures of the car and engine.
But nothing of the underside.. where we would see straight away that the heads do not have fins and are simply a GT3 like head with water cooling.

they say air cooled, so my guess is the heads are oil-cooled. there are pumps on the heads that look like scavenge pumps to me.

air cooled heads with 4 valves would not work (Porsche found that out in the 70s thanks to Herr Metzger).

their clientele would not go for a wet motor, air and oil only.

It has a fan so nobody questions it being air cooled.

I don't think there has ever been pure oil cooled head,
anywhere, at least not for this kind of power out put per liter.
They all had fins for aircooling.

Going with oil cooled 4 valved heads does not make any sense to me
Porsche did water cooled 4 valved jackets on the 959 and several race cars.

Why would a small shop like singer do something that Porsche did not? for an extremely small productioin run.

Their clientele is not going to pay big money for a one off that uses prototype, untested technology .. They would not accept unreliability which comes with unproven tech.

the 4 valved water cooled heads are well tested, and reliable.
And they also have a scavenge pump for oil in the heads. That's the modern water cooled head for you.

Using oil for lube and water for cooling is better then using oil for both which degrades the oil's lubrication properties and increased need for filtration.

And the car to which the engine belongs has been announced:

Singer and Williams have restored this gorgeous Porsche

I think "restored" is not the correct term here...

That thing is gaudy. Wild look for a wild motor, I guess. I much prefer the look of the "standard' Singers.

Interesting roof spoiler...

Normally, I would agree. But this one has really interesting modern aero treatments and there is new detail I find each time I look at it (vented lights, door handle, etc). As a design exercise on the air-cooled platform I think it's really cool. Wonder if Singer will also go the way of Ruf and do a complete bespoke carbon tub? It would be only logical.

I love the subjectiveness of art. For me, that's just perfection...beautiful on so many levels. Call me a "fan boi", but I know what I like.

Spectacular. Such a tasteful blend of old and new. I will be a fortunate man if I can hear the motor in my lifetime.

Don't hate 'em, don't love 'em. Kind of like looking at other unobtaniums. Fun to look at, but really no urge to possess.

Mmmkay. Williams optimized the aero in the wind tunnel with input from Norbert Singer.

I'm sure that X door panel on the inside has a lot of relevance in that respect.

And i don't care how optimized it is, it does not look like a nice old early 911
And it still does not have anything like the aero of a modern car, it's a compromise and it looks wank to me
