Fifteen52 Fair Warning
A post of this tone is not normal for me but I feel compelled to share my story in case anyone is on the fence with ordering wheels from Fifteen52 - so you know what to expect. I wish I had know this prior to placing my order.
I placed an order for the forged Outlaw 001 wheels in early April - at the time being told there was a 6-8 week lead time. 4+ months later and still no wheels. I received several 1-2 more week commitments that never happened and even a for sure date of 8/7 which of course didn't happen and no reply for Sales on the status. I honestly expected much better service than this. |

Ask co-owner here on Pelican if he can shed some light? His name is Brad but it appears he last posted here in late April

I've sent this on to a buddy that's good friends with the 1552 guys. Hopefully they can make it right.

Since late spring the US forged wheel supplier market has been thrown for a loop with one of the biggest players (Centerline) closing their doors. This has in effect, left only a couple suppliers for the center forgings companies like ours rely upon, and as result we've experienced some pretty unprecedented delays in getting materials. In dealing with our customers with pending orders we try to relay the most accurate info we have, but unfortunately that's often the same "1-2 more weeks" spiel that gets relayed to us by suppliers. We know how it looks to our customers because we are also a customer to our supplier and feel exasperated when the info we're given turns out to be false. My goal here is to offer some insight into why these delays are happening, and hopefully to not appears as simply offering a bunch of excuses designed to absolve ourselves of ultimate responsibility. The truth is we need to make this right for you and make sure we are offering the best possible communication channels as we do it. With that in mind, please feel free to email me directly at brad@fifteen52.com and I will do everything in my power to make this situation more bearable for you. Thank you!

I'd like to see you give him the option to keep waiting patiently, or get a full refund. that would go a long way.

I used to work in that industry and fifteen52 has a good rep. I hadn't heard about the centerline mess but I know there aren't many suppliers for forgings. Hopefully you are able to work it out with brad!

It sounds like there are is no lack of orders where seller risks being stuck with a set if OP declines to buy them when they are available to ship.

That totally depends on how custom they are? If they are an odd size and it finish they might be hard to move again. Wheels like this are generally highly customized for the buyer.
This is not unheard of in the wheel industry. Last year around this time we had wheels from another manufacturer pushing 16+ weeks with no ETA in site on $8k+ custom orders. It's crappy situation all the way around. |

Thanks, and this is company policy on all orders - totally custom in nature or not - when the original ETA cannot be met.
