Went E-tap on the Slice. Bike shop installing free of charge as part of the balance of the fit adjustments. Went 11-25 RED rear cassette as well. Will report on how I like it.

If I do like it, the Supersix will likely get the same treatment.

Cheers

First ride on the tri bike with the E-tap, Red 11-25 cassette. Love it. I would not say the shifting needs to be any faster. It is a much better ride being able to use my index fingers to tap a shift button while in aero and squeeze my thumb against the bar to shift when riding on the bull horns. Super smooth, super easy.

Yeah, its nice. And the cassette is a quarter pound lighter than Dura Ace if you're into that stuff. A bit louder, but not obnoxious, and easier on the freehub splines. Congrats.

One reason I go with Shimano cassettes over Sram is the availability of the 12-25 cassette. It may not be a big deal where you have hills but in the flat lands of Texas, I spend a lot of time in the 18 tooth sprocket which Sram doesn't offer on any cassettes.

That new stuff is pretty interesting but the chances are good that I will never wear out the Durace components on the Lemond road bike due to lack of use.....
yea, ill stick to my durace 9 spd. not that I ride anymore, but I still have it.

Yeah, I was a little off, more like 1/4 pound lighter than Ultegra. However, lots of folks use Ultegra with DA drivetrains due to 9000 having such a high failure rate on the carbon spider.

My preference would be the 12-25 on the tri bike and a 12-28 on the roadie, I am rarely in the 11 cog.

The SRAM 11-25 is rediculously light and I found it essentially silent.

What's failing, the Cassette itself?

No, went from a mix of a mix of 105/ultegra/DA 11spd to e-tap with Red cassette, on the tri bike. So I can't speak to the E-tap brake/shifters as my tri bike has clicks in the aero bar ends and blips on the bull horns.

Yeah, the top 3 cogs are on a carbon spider and its not up to the task with bigger/stronger guys.

I am still riding 10 spd DA and have been thinking about going to 11spd jsut so I can have a 25 tooth cog out back. I don't do all that much climbing. If I do, I normally suffer through it or just change a wheel with a 25 tooth gear. I really like the 16-19 straight cogs out back. I should be looking to change out up to 110spd. Good to know that they aren't up to the task as I am pretty tough on equip.

Glad you like it. SARM makes nice stuff. I wonder how much longer is it going to take Shimano to up their game and compete with SRAM. I can't wait because 11 spd DA Di2's pricing will drop like a big stone.
