Had waranty service done on my Boxster at the local dealership without issue because I didn't pay anything, it was all under warranty. They have a good service tech and the advisor was a good guy. They provided a loaner car when in for service. Asked them to NOT do the complementary wash. It was a dark color and getting small scratches from their washes.

I still had a couple of issue that would have been catastrophically expensive If I hadn't been a car guy. One was a wrong part from the parts department. The other was a manufacturing defect the tried to blame on my driving.

One was they had to replace the motor. They had put the wrong MAF on it and it ran so rich it backfired on deceleration and eventually spun a rod bearing. Luckily checking the black box I had never driven the car in a way that would have caused the problem ie over revving the engine..

The other was the paint started flaking off the calipers. They wan't to charge me for replacement, $2500 each, saying I got the brakes too hot racing it. I simply stated if I had getting them too hot racing it would be the front brakes flaking and not both the front and rears because racing would get the front brakes much hotter than the rears. They immediately made it a warrantee claim.

My older Porsches I only take to the dealer for alignment. For some reason the dealership alignments seem to be more accurate and stay aligned for much longer.

Go in there as a “customer” and you’ll be treated like a customer just like the sales guys treat people in the showroom as a customer .

If you mention PCA , you’ll get a discount , and if you mention Pca they know you’re a car guy .

It’s not hard .
It’s not like you’ve had a Kirby vacuum salesman in your living room for 2 hours trying to “close” you .
It’s a simple transaction between 2 people who are into cars ...

$240 for the trans service (worth it IMHO).
Found nothing wrong with the brakes/suspension, I was impressed.
Carson Nissan.
Read your Nissan warranty carefully. If a proprietary Nissan brand fluid is called for by the warranty they cannot charge for it (if a licensed equivalent exists) under Magnusson Moss Act. Research the fluid and see if there isn’t an equivalent. The Nissan parts counter will quickly tell you “no” but you never know what may be out there.

Lest we forget, the quick oil change places and Firestone or Goodyear places are as bad or worse when it comes to upsell
