That was fairly typical for music shows back then. They were presented in more of a 'review' format, with several acts appearing on the same bill. Each band was only on for about 20-25min...just enough time for a few recognizable tunes you might've heard on the radio mixed in with some filler.

Started around noon and went late into the night. burned out.

Oh, yeah... I know that... my first concert was going to Charlotte about that time with about 5 other people to see Herman's Hermits. One girl's mom drove us (it was her daughter's birthday present).

There was a lot of screaming. It was a cold January or February day IIRC.

There were at least 3 warmup acts, but the only ones I remember were The Catalinas and The Shadows of Knight.
