At this point if an intelligent, articulate woman chooses to spend an evening with me over dinner or at the philharmonic and leave it at that I go home well contented. I often spend time with women much younger than my 65 years, both of us knowing there is no spending the night together. The absence of that expectation allows us both to relax, be ourselves and just enjoy the time. It's a great way to avoid crazy.

Nurses have to deal with fixing humans from their stupidest things they've ever done, and sometimes fixing is impossible.

ALL of the nurses I have known have a sense of humor they display around people that they are close to and comfortable with of a type that I do not think would be imagined by people that haven't encountered it.
