Faster Faster. Didn't you all see Reefer Madness? Doesn't slow me down. Get out of my way!!
I'm not nice if you are blocking me on the road!
Your perspectives holds NO merit.
It allows me to Focus on the task at hand. Even going over 100mph in me Race Car. Ask Mick.
It effects people in so many positive aspects,
but for some it does not, you're correct it makes them STUPID!
As a EE for 36 years, it's allowed me to enhance my creativity, focus and excel my career. I've invented stuff you can't imagine. I also on the side fix electronic equipment all from tubes to modern day. I work on my cars and ALFA's are a PIA, wish I had a second elbow sometimes!
I'm sure Porsche owners sometime had a second elbow?
Today I create components that go into Smart Phones, the very one in your pocket perhaps?
Scary isn't it? Wake & Bake!
Yes people can't handle it, but a lot can't handle alcohol. It a phase!
PLEASE I just want to be left alone and let me live my life the way I want too. I smoke cigarettes as well and respect those around me by stepping aside, I understand. I don't want to harm others or violate their space.
But if you don't know you have no right to opinionate. Listen!

If you wrote the entirety of the below baked, I am not sure your perspective holds merit: what a mishmash.

I don't care what you imbibe, just don't get in a car and drive afterwards...

WTF! You just lost any credibility you may have had with this disjointed ramble. You're obviously baked writing this.

sooo, you are saying that you being held up because you can't fly down the left is a higher priority (no pun intended) than public safety when someone is driving under the influence of a drug?

I think the perspective being presented to us is an old one, and worth a debate.

I did not run Snopes on the below, but it is the usual tale, one that I found to be untrue, but maybe I didn't need a right brain nudge.

Carl Sagan. In his essay, Sagan reports that for him, the marijuana high led to various cognitive enhancements, including an enhancement of cognitive abilities like enhanced episodic memory, pattern recognition, creativity, and the ability to produce insights.
I am naturally right brain dominated, and the last thing in the world I need is to be chemically nudged further down that road.

True, everyone is different, and it can be a painful experience learning first hand the misery of pot, booze, fatty foods, sugar, caffeine and so forth.

Long and short, pot in my opinion should not be classified as a Class-A Controlled Substance, but it is far from being harmless.

I would hate to think I was so incredibly successful...and it was all because I constantly smoked dope. Maybe if he did not sound so much of his time drugged, he might have achieved so much more. Same fellow smokes cancer sticks as well...and is rather proud of it...so good decision making is really not his forte.

Why Alfas for a super genius who invents parts for IPhones? Why not Ferraris or a GT3 RS, or....?

Recently had a TIA stroke, they are minor. Was curious about the cognitive effects. Tests showed my IQ went up 13 points. So, by the logic here, everyone should have a TIA stroke.

What makes the common rules of human decency different whenever we are inside a rolling box?
Would you act the same with people walking too slow?
How can you pre-determine the cause?

Yes. If you have to commute in a big city and do a lot of walking...it it very annoying when people walk two or three abreast and you have to walk very slowly behind them...or fail to keep somewhat to the right from the opposite direction and force you into the street or a wall. People have no consideration.

I was driving on the freeway yesterday behind a POS old car. Saw a bunch of smoke come out of the sunroof, then I got hit with the skunky smell. Curious, I got up alongside the car and watched a 20-something girl toking away with a big grin on her face. All while doing 70mph on the freeway. This is our future.

stevej37 03-15-2018 08:22 AM

^^^^^What??? She wasn't texting while toking?

Deschodt 03-15-2018 08:51 AM

I'm OK with the weed being legal but I'm also bothered smelling it when driving... You are right lots of people seem to smoke when driving - not cool. NorCal too... I commute to/from SFO and with windows down (April to October) I smell it all the time in traffic, on the freeway, it's insane...

I'm hoping it's overreaction to the new freedom and that people will calm down a bit as far as smoking when driving, otherwise ticket the **** out of them... they're not hard to identify...

One of my friends that smoked (normal tobacco cigarettes) for many years finally quit smoking. He said that he was pretty sure his car did not run without his his cigarette in his mouth. He was shocked to know cars work fine without a cigarette. It was just a pure habit to always light up when he was ready to start the car. That was his hardest thing to overcome to be a non-smoker.

I feel sure the dope smokers feel the same way. A certain trigger is when the "need" a toke. If they do it at at home with the windows rolled up fine. If the drive, arrest them with the same DUI as booze.

A large amount of smoke usually indicates they are vaping (who knows what). I'm not sure, but I believe there are vaping oils that contain cannibus.

Scary, how many distracted/angry/impared drivers are out there sharing the road with us every day.....just waiting to test the limits.

recycled sixtie 03-15-2018 09:34 AM

I think as we get older we have less tolerance for people toking, for drivers that text while driving, for pedestrians that text while walking etc. Add to that I have no tolerance for dogs that attack me, dogs off leash and people that don't pick up after their dogs.

Okay so I do come across as curmudgeonly. Statistics say that we each have a one in thirty-four chance of having a serious car accident in our lives. I like the heavy duty legislation on texters, bad drivers and impaired drivers. Bring it on...

Good subject Richard.:)

PSA: Don't drink, smoke, snort, etc. and drive.

I have not smoked weed in decades and know very little about vaping, I believe you can get THC oil but some people are smoking nicotine with these devices?

I also have seen billows coming out of cars, but no smell of weed. Is it possible vaping THC has no smell of Mary Jane?
