That burger chef fast food joint rang a bell:
the local hot-rod cruise hang-out fast food drive-in with roller skating carhops is called Angelo's. It used to be a burger chef a hundred years ago. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yep. Home of the slidder -a slip of steamed ground meat (beef) on a soggy bun. I confess to stopping in for a sack of sliders Now and then.

There was a U.S. chain that was called Victoria Station. It was a railway themed steak house. The restaurant used railway box cars as part of the building. They had pretty good prime rib and beef ribs.
An old friend used to work at one. We would drink there after hours. I'm thinking around 1980

Not sure if the Sambos on Cabrillo Blvd. is original? It was our go to place for breakfast in the 60's and 70's. We went to the one on upper State Street.

What ever happened to the "$0.39" Hamburger places?
More bun than burger, and you always ordered about 5 of them. The fries we not good, but tasted like congealed fat if the went cold.
