If I were in the market for a general purpose motorcycle boot, this would be my choice:
Aerostich Combat Lite ![]() I ride to work daily, wear a full business suit under my riding suit, thus I can't wear these kind of boots as they are too high and not compatible with my suit trousers. I found these from Stylmartin which look fantastic and offer real protection (and water resistance): Stylmartin Oxford. These cover the ankle, but don't come up to mid calf like heavier duty boots. ![]() Stylmartin has a bunch of different styles available. They are nice quality boots.

I own and wear the Stylmartin Oxfords daily. I can walk into my office in my business suit and those boots and not get a second glance. I generally change into dress shoes though. The Stylmartin's have a very stiff sole, so are not the most comfortable for walking around in. They also have an inner membrane for water resistance, so they don't breathe well, thus I remove them as soon as convenient. I've got about 20,000 miles on them and they still look fantastic. Soles have worn out and I had my shoe guy redo them with Vibram soles...now they are better than new.

i have a CHP accociate. he told me that in his experience, the accident victim's chance for survival is greatly diminished if the shoes come off. (very unscientific, i know)..but he said when they come up to an accident, they get immediately discouraged if they see a pair of shoes.
i put my boots on all the time..no exceptions. i regret getting the tall version, since they have some that are 6" lower..i also do not like laces on motorcycles. i once had a brain fart and got it hooked on the shifter..no biggie unless you come to a stop thinking i could get that foot down..(i saved it by tilting the other way)

I've found the ultimate in convenience is a combination of laces and a zipper. I've have a pair of these for several years and just love them. Harley "FXRG" (I think it means "functional riding gear"). Absolutely waterproof, warm, and very well armored. I think they are about $280.
