You’ve seen with your own eyes a flight attendant slammed into the ceiling of a plane?

I’ve seen one tossed about a bit, spilling a drink or getting a quick save from a passenger, but to get slammed Hollywood style into the ceiling? Come on! Was she taken out by EMT after an emergency landing at the nest available airport?

Yup, we were heading to Gatwick from EU and flying one of those smaller commuter types. The air was very rough and the seatbelt sign was on the whole trip. He was headed forward and we dropped hard and fast and IIRC we were just crossing over the English coast. He actually hit the overhead bins and was dazed to the point of nearly being out cold. The other attendant secured him and we landed ahead of the pattern. We all kept to our seats as he was helped off of the aircraft. By the time I made into the terminal he was gone. I've had some rough flights over the channel.

edit: and no it wasn't Hollywood style. Saying he hit the ceiling was misleading, my bad.

Holy crap! That is nuts. I might have taken a break from flying after that.

To put things in perspective each person has a one in 34 chance of being in a serious car accident in their lives(source of this stat I don't know) so in theory you are safer flying.
