I do the Burpees every time I drink beer...no real concern about form, or length of time.

My wife prefers burpees to tootees. You know, better North than south.

Frankly, burpees are for people who lack exercise discipline, but they’re better than nothing. You are much better off doing a series of different exercises that work each muscle group and then allow that group to rest while you work another group. Try a series of push up, lunge, crunch, plank. Ten each in succession, then rest for one minute and repeat two more times. Over time up both the number of reps and the number of series. Don’t be surprised if you are very sore for the first couple of days after the first day.

Good video, goes over problem I had with them, shoulder stress (rotor cuff).

I thought I was dropping too hard and quickly, looks like I had my arms too wide for the push-up.

I stopped doing these in the fall when I moved indoors, just didn't have the room in the basement gym. Now that I'm working out outside again I'll give them another try.

That 8 count bodybuilder is one form of the Burpee they were having us do at the workout place I tried for a while.

I can see he had his arms as wide as I had, perhaps his elbows were tucked in like the first video posted.

I looked at the video with woman posted in this thread as well.

I still see a great deal of weight being shifted and supported by the shoulders, an irritant for me.

I'm going to focus more on dips for now because I found a pair of pipe stands that allow me to dip with knees bent, forward body angle and really hit my chest in lieu of the back of my arms.

Burpee's are just too free form for me at this point, too easy to do in poor form.

I'm tending to agree with a few others, this combination exercise may lead to injury, even the experts doing them in the videos warn so.

Why combine squat thrusts and push-ups?

The only reason to do this is it compresses time and get your heart to race quickly.

This is only an advantage to the workout gyms with 1/2 hour classes.

It's like fast food places playing rock & roll to move bodies in and out of there by getting you to eat faster.

Faster is not better in this case, safer is better. Safer to do one thing at a time.

The world record is 1,490 in an hour. So that's something to shoot for.

Of course, all the Cross fit freaks went berserk and said she didn't do them correctly. Still, that's a lot of burpees!

Burpees!

Honestly a truer statement has never been uttered "Youth is wasted on the young".

Young people seem to have all the energy in the world, but tend to waste it on gaming, or slacking.
