Sure, you are welcome to come to breakfast and/or the dyno runs even if you aren't running. Come on by!

Brown Bag, meet in the lot at 8:20, heading inside at 8:30, dyno at 10:00 -

Depending on how stuff goes tonight, out how late, etc. I may come by for breakfast. May even run if there is time, just don't know what the schedule is and didn't want to commit to it just yet.

It's just an old little 3.0 anyway, nothing much to see.

That was a fun event! Weather was crisp.

I had to leave before Craig finished his run. What did you get Craig?

Anyone else want to post their results?

I need to find a scanner so I can post mine. I ended up with 199.5 HP to the wheels.

I kinda wussed out on running it all the way to the new red line I think. The report showed 6500 RPM as where I was letting off.

Bill, I have a video of you on the dyno - PM me w/your e-mail.
I got 361 RWHP - having a lack of boost (only showing .7 bar), should be about 418. Knew I was down a bit, gotta check it out.

Nice to meet the new guys, that was fun.

Rather bad knock issues for me after about 4,000 RPM. Didn't run as well as I'd hoped. (248hp) Gonna have a thorough going-over of the fuel delivery and go from there.

So, are everyone's eyes still burning from the MFI on my 2.4 "T"? True to form, the MFI pumps more fuel through the thing than it can burn. I actually started out quite lean on the first run, with the A/F right at 14:1. I fattened up the top end a bit and got it down to 13.2:1 on the second run, and finally got it to 12.5:1 after one more tweak on the third run.

The HP numbers were identical to last year at 133 RWHP. Torque was up a whopping 4 ft lbs at 140 compared to 136 last year. Last year I ran it absolutely dead stock in every respect. This year I had the sport muffler on it. I have now seen two early cars run with stock two in / single out mufflers and sport mufflers; my car and Brooke's 2.2 "S". Neither one had an appreciable gain in power comensurate to all the additional noise. So, while they sound cool, they appear to do nothing to increase performance.

If I remember right, I made 347 hp rwhp and 352 lbft on my 2nd run. I made 313 hp a while back. The only change I made was getting rid of the B&B and fabbing up a borla (straight through) muffler. I'm VERY suprised it's such a big difference. I need to get a boost gauge back on to make sure I'm still at 12 psi.

However I've got a lean issue to deal with. I'm too close to the edge. This is number one on my winter projects list!

Good to see everyone...and thanks again for setting this up Craig.

Smart move. IMO, there is no real need for a baffled muffler on a 930.
Just sets ya up for high temp material failures on an already hot 930 exhaust.

Highway drives at night = glowing turbo and exhaust, right Jeff?

How hard is it to adjust the mixture on a 930? It seems like a couple of you were a bit on the lean side. They were very good about letting me make mixture adjustments on my MFI between pulls. I though CIS was pretty easy, with a mixture screw similar to MFI. Is it an access problem, like the intercooler is in the way or something? It was really too bad that it looked like you guys couldn't just adjust them while we were there.

Ah, but there were adjstments being made on the other 2 930s with the infamous 3mm hex. Mine looked good, but my boost levels were oddly low, so that was to be expected. I need to do some checking --

After I put the Steve Wong chip in i noticed some smoke puffing at idle, but after the Dyno run it seems to have gone away. Something i will have to keep an eye on.
