No 3.6 needed, as mentioned above. The current 3.0 is mind bendingly fast.

Definitely no 3.6 needed in this thing. It has a freshly built, high compression, S cammed, carbed 3.0, with early SC big port heads. I bough the 914 thinking I would sell the 3.0 it came with and put my 2.2S motor into it. After half a day driving the 3.0, that plan is in serious jepordy. The 3.0 is REALLY strong. So now I have three great motors and one of them has to go. Its a tough decision.

I was needling Brooke to sell the 3.0, that is until I drove it. I am 100% converted. That car pulls like a corvette witha 427 in it. NO $#!T.

Find me a good deal on a already converted to fit an SC 3.6 and I'll make you a good deal on the 3.0 in mine.

I guess we found the car to uphold the honor of the local Porsche crowd at the upcoming "Pinks"...

Nice score, Brooke. Can't wait to see it.

I think Kenik is overstating it a bit, but it is no doubt fast. Not "Pinks" fast though (not that I've ever even seen the show). Not to mention its a bit hard to drag race when you can't get fully on it in 1st for fear of snapping off the nose of the main shaft. Still, plenty fast and fun for me. This is the first open top car I have ever owned. Fun in the sun!

I'll not be able to make it to XXX this month, but I should be able to get to the next one. The problem then is do I take the "new" 914, or the 911 with the new motor? Decisions, decisions.....

I didn't see this one (914-6) up for sale. Where did you find it?

This 914-6 was not listed for sale. I found out about it when I called on another car the previous owner had lsited for sale on craig's list. He mentioned he had a 914-6 we was going to be selling next, so I arranged to see it, do a PPI, and obviously I ended up buying it.
