paintless dent
Hi folks: Took one for the team on 167 yesterday, now have a small welt on the hood of the 964 inflicted by a chunk of asphalt ejected from a big-assed dump truck. Was trying to maneuver around him at the time, I was hoping all I had to worry about was tobacco spit coming out of the window. Pi$$ed to a degree I cannot describe. So I'm now looking for a GOOD paintless dent guy, preferably in the south end.
tia, Barry PS: I did a search, couldn't find anything very new that was relevant... Last edited by Bearclaw; 05-19-2007 at 05:01 PM.. |

Birch Abraham is the best there is. His company is "Dentcrafters". He is sometimes at the "Dent Tent" outside the Tacoma Mall.
He made a football-sized dent in my truck disappear, along with lots of other dings on the Miata. |

What or how do these guys charge?
Being a baseball coach I have multiple dents in my 4runner...All from baseballs.

Just wanted to post a big thank you for the Dentcrafter/Birch Abraham recommendation. He has a store in South Tacoma and a setup at the Tacoma Mall, but is expanding. Took the P-car out there Friday, and dings are now GONE. This guy has to be the Top Gun in his field, "worth the drive from anywhere" as they say. He's obviously been doing it a long time, and he takes the process and the results VERY seriously, and he loves Porsches. Got the two out that I took it there for, plus 4 others I either never noticed, or had forgotten about. He takes particular pride in getting out dents other guys say they can't do. He even saw an area on my door that must have been done by the dealer's guy and said. "I've GOT to make that better" - and he made it disappear. I was ecstatic. Look him up if you need this. No affiliation, he's just the best.

Price?
What kind of cost are we talking here?
My wife got a nasty door ding in the minivan a week or so ago, it was pretty deep. I played around with massaging the dent, from the backside, and actually got 90% of it out. I decided to stop short rather than doing any damage.

I'd say the pricing is highly dependent on how many you have, and how tough they are to get to. We originally talked about a couple hundred bucks; by the time he got done with the extra ones he had found and I had found, the total was $250 + tax. Very reasonable, I thought.

Zombie thread: Since this guy was so good, I went to look him up again to work on another car. His website is gone and his phone no. didn't work. A Google search didn't net me anything. Does anyone know if he's still around?
If he's gone, has anyone used this guy?: http://www.ryanpdr.com/

I've seen his tent se tup at the Tacoma Mall within the last month. It's been on a Sunday if that helps. He's usually over by Macy's and the tire store.
All the best! Sharon
