Say "hi" to everyone on Tuesday for me. Can't make it this month; I'm in beautiful Cardiff, Wales for a few weeks.

Can't drink, car doesn't run. yup sound like kickin to the curb time.
Wales, lucky. I'm in Guangzhou for 6 weeks and I'm already having Porsche withdrawls.

Yeah, I'm not here for anything like six weeks, but we did just get extended. They were woefully unprepared for our arrival. Several days behind where we were told they were, and lacking in equipment and manpower to catch back up. Maybe afterburn 549 can loan them some tools so I can go home.

You need me to warm your car up for ya? I'm currently quite available.

Sure, come on over. We are just outside of Cardiff at the British Airways Maintenance Centre. About 20 miles southwest of Cardiff proper. We have both engines and struts off of a BA 767. We are in need of some NDT (non-destructive test) equipment to determine the extent of some possible fatigue and corrosion cracking on the side load fitting attach points. If you could bring your HFEC (high frequency eddy current) test equipment, we would be most grateful. Thanks.

Why thank you; what a selfless offer. But that's just the kind of guy you are. Say, while you are over at my place, do me another favor. Take the bikes out for a spin. They could use a good long run as well. Tell Lori-Jo to give you the gas card so you don't run out somewhere.

This will probably take you all day, so you better do it on a Saturday or something. There should be a couple of steaks in the fridge if you get hungry while you're at my place swapping vehicles. There should be a couple of beers as well, but you might want to save those until you're done for the day.

Thanks! I'm on my way. Say, you don't have any extra large helmets do you?

If you were a member of the "R" Groupe N.W. we could ship you the replicator to make a new one. ( you would have to program any and all cracks out b4 you hit the GO button or you would of course get the exact broken part .)

Jeff Higgins 02-17-2008 01:17 AM

Actually, I'm doing a pretty fair job of representing the R Gruppe PacWest. I've sampled just about every ale in Wales, and that was just the first night... belch...

This thread is like a bad train wreck...I can't stop watching.

Well, that is until now, because this is getting boring.

Jeff, please start a new thread with some pics of your extracurricular activities!

FYI: Websters Dictionary defines oblivious as "lacking active conscious knowledge or awareness."

Jeff Higgins 02-17-2008 11:07 AM

Hah; are you kidding? "Extracurricular activities"? 13-14 hour days with an hour from the hotel to the hangar doesn't leave time for much more than grabbing a bite to eat and a beer before hitting the sack.

The local brand of ales in Cardiff is "Brains". No kidding. They even sponsor the rugby team, which happens to be a pretty good one. The more I drink, the smarter I feel. I can think of at least a few of you that should head over and give it a go. Sure couldn't hurt.
