Sent Kermie to a safe retreat today.
Don't think we'll be evacuated (currently we are yellow, level 2), but I'd rather be safe than a loser.
Crazy skies out here in Boring.
Was half way through a bunch of projects on the green car when my knee procedure came up in mid August.
The timing for these wild fires wasn't the best..... ha.

Somehow these natural disasters are never timed just quite right... I intend to lodge a complaint with the manager...

Time for a distraction...curious what everyone thinks of this one. Seems to be a lot of people who like it. Myself? ...I think it's unbearably ugly. Sad considering it evidently was an over $200k build...

Art is in the eye of the beholder. Or in this case the wallet of the builder. It's cool in its own way but I'm not a speedster fan.

I've seen it many times, during its build and after completion. Execution of the build is amazing (e.g. welds on the rollbar gussets have been ground & polished before painting), aesthetic vision involved leaves me a bit cold.

I think the speedster is very well executed, but that doesn't mean I'd want it.

I think this is what I'm feeling...sure, there's excellence in the details, but it feels like somebody forgot to step back and take a look at the design as a whole. To me it doesn't "feel" like a Porsche anymore. Shame.

Real crappy....yeah.
Ha

What exactly are you getting? Total or partial?
If that knee is already in good shape (cycling, etc), you're probably ready for surgery.
If the knee/leg is out of shape, best be getting it in the best condition as you can prior to your surgery date.

Get after the bending and straightening of your leg immediately after the procedure.
Take your pain meds....I'd get on Colace (stool softener) and prune juice immediately upon taking all the pain meds.
The more hay you can make in the 1st couple weeks, the easier your subsequent PT will be.

Good luck man!
I'm 6 weeks out today and can walk "ok" without any aids.
Still have a long way to go for recovery of my range of motion.
Sleeping at night is still tough as there seems to be no position my knee likes for a restful night's sleep.

Pulling for a good and fast recovery.

Like Doug says, use the meds, do the PT. Verify with the therapist how much is too much since doing more then recommended sometimes sets you back.

That is absolutely true.
You walk a fine line between too little and too much.
Inflammation and swelling initially are your guide.

After 6 weeks, I'm just about at 110 deg flexion which I think is about just par for the course.
But that's with some pain and difficulty.
I'm hoping in the end that I get 125 deg w/o pain.
I'll be happy at that point.

Total replacement, as all three compartments have failed.
Thanks for the advice, Doug, and best wishes for your further/faster recovery!

Just kinda highlights some of the Porsche starring movies, but it's always fun to see a Pcar on film...

I'm sad that the high caliber film, "Condorman" didn't make the cut...
