Air compressor
My garage air compressor went to heaven last week and I would like to find a replacement. I need at least 4.5 CFM for my plasma cutter. Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive compressor? Harbor Freight??

many years ago i had a home depot 2 cylinder 220V 5HP compressor that the pump crapped out after two years.
in my airbrush shop i have the two compressors one is a 20HP and the home depot one. i was thinking of buying another cheap one after the pump crapped out but instead i got a new pump for it from Eaton the pimp i got was a 5HP 3 cylinder pump putting out 18 CFM's for the 300$ i spent on the new pump it was well worth it. i have had this compressor for about 15 years now with no problems at all. in fact it went from a back up and the one i would use for just air brushing to pretty much my main compressor. i only use my 20 HP one for tools that need large amounts of air like my big sand blaster , painting a complete car or if more then one person needs to use air tools. the 5HP does run my plasma cutter , blasting cabinet , DA and so on. i have also used the 5hp to paint complete cars but it does run the hole time so i tend just to use the other one. |
